A young woman from Ontario is facing serious health issues after a scleral tattoo (or whites of the eye tattoo) went horribly awry.
Catt Gallinger, 24, received a scleral tattoo in early September. Three weeks later, she is at risk of losing her sight.

Gallinger shared a post to Facebook warning other about the dangers behind tattooing the whites of your eyes.

“This was caused by undiluted ink, over injection, not enough/smaller injections sights,” Gallinger wrote. “There are multiple people who can attest that my aftercare was good and any other part of what I am saying. I am sharing this to warn you to research who you get your procedures by as well as how the procedure should be properly done.”
According to her post, Gallinger was hospitalized and put on antibiotics and steroid drops. Doctors have told her that her vision will not get better, and if things keep worsening she will inevitably lose her sight.
Gallinger is sharing her experience day-by-day to help bring awareness and prevent others from making the same mistake she did.
“Please be cautious who you get your mods from and do your research. I don’t want this to happen to anyone else.”
