Dry skin is ageing skin, it’s as simple as that. Each decade brings new challenges but most women don’t notice how much their skin keeps drying out as they get older.
Adopt a new routine that’s all about combatting moisture loss and your skin will glow with good health for years to come.
Here are my favourites, and they’re not as expensive as you might think.
1. What: Weleda Skin Food, $22.95, weleda.com.au
Why: Since 1926 this green tube of goodness has been bringing parched skin back to life. It has a thick base of natural oils and beeswax and is free from synthetic fragrances, colourants, preservatives and raw materials from mineral oils. I use this as a treatment to get my skin back on track – and every day in winter.
2. What: NIVEA Daily Essentials Rich Moisturising Day Cream SPF 30+, $12.99, priceline.com.au
Why: This is my go-to, everyday moisturiser and has been for many years. It has such a comforting scent and is thick and rich and softening plus it has sunscreen. I still can’t get my head around the price. So good.
3. What: Natio Antioxidant Face Moisturiser, $17.95, natio.com.au
Why: Because one of its ingredients in this plant-based moisturiser is my all-time favourite oil, jojoba (and it should be yours too as it suits all skin types). It also has the added repairing benefit of vitamins A, C and E, sweet almond and carrot extracts.
